You could make a lasting impact at Cheff for as little as $25! We are in the process of raising funds towards being able to PURCHASE a horse for our program.
Historically, the majority of Cheff Center riders have been children and adolescents. Over the past few years, we have made an effort to expand the adult rider segment of our programing (senior programing, veterans, balance study riders, etc.) and have done so with great success. These changes have allowed us to increase our positive impact on the community and contribute cutting edge information to the industry on an international level. In order to continue providing these amazing services, we need to modify our horse herd to withstand the changing workload.
Our existing herd was built for our previous mix of riders: mostly children and youth with a couple of horses able to comfortably carry larger adult riders. With the increasing number of adult riders (many of whom are close or over our current weight limit and unbalanced) in our programs, it has become evident that we need some larger horses, and we need them fast! If we are unable to acquire horses suitable for carrying larger riders, we are faced with a choice of turning clients away or creating structural health problems for our current horses, neither of which are ideal options.
Cheff Center has established an ongoing "Dream Horse Fund" to allow us to go looking for some larger boned (draft cross) horses. Purchasing program horses is not normal practice for the Cheff Center, but we are at a point that we simply cannot wait for our "dream horses" to be donated.
Our "dream horse" puzzle has been broken into 80 $25 pieces- once the puzzle is complete, we'll be on our way to purchasing the real thing. If you would like to donate a piece (or more) of our "dream horse" puzzle, please fill out the form below!

Testimonial Tuesday: Meet Natalie
Everyone who comes to Cheff has a unique experience that oftentimes has far reaching effects. Today, we'd like to highlight Natalie.
Natalie is currently our youngest client at the Cheff Center- begining her journey at only 14 months. Click the link below to read her mom's thoughts on the experience.Read more Birthday Blessings
Since 2005, volunteer extraordinaire Kathy Keelan Pew, has donated her birthday to the Cheff (Ride-a-Thon) - to the tune of nearly $15,000 ($2,475 in 2016 alone!)
The Cheff Center has given Emily great confidence and strength. The volunteers and staff are excellent! It’s such a joy to me to see how happy Emily is when she is riding.
