Cheff Center Ride-A-Thon 2017

SEPTEMBER 30TH 2017

Join the event on Facebook and stay up to date with prizes and news HERE!

WHO:

You and all your horse riding friends/family! (you must bring your horse for this ride- we are unfortunately unable to rent/loan out our horses)

WHAT:

This is so much more than a trail ride... It's also about making life changing therapy opportunities available to those in our community who need them most. Participants get a lot for their minimum pledge donation, but we urge everyone to remember that their dollars are going WAY further than buying a one day trail ride.

This annual fundraiser is responsible for raising money to support our equine herd at Cheff. You're invited to join us for a morning of trail riding, silent auctions, door prizes, top fundraiser prizes, tack for sale and of course an amazing hot lunch. There will be two trail options, a 3 mile "short loop" and a "long loop" that will probably end up right around 10 miles (long loop varies from year to year depending on what trails we're allowed to use in Kellogg Forest.) The entire ride is on trails, though there are road crossings. Major road crossings will be police/volunteer assisted. Registered riders are able to go through the trails as many times as they would like, but we will not be allowing riders out after 12pm.

WHEN:

September 30th, 8a.m. - Noon*- Rain or shine. *No riders allowed out after 12pm. Lunch will be served until 2p.m.

WHERE:

Cheff Therapeutic Riding Center8450 N. 43rd St., Augusta, MI 49012

WHY:

As an equestrian yourself- you understand how expensive horses can be! Our herd at Cheff fluctuates between 15 and 20 horses. The cost of keeping these horses happy and healthy is nothing to laugh at. With this fundraiser, we reach out to those who really understand what we do and the challenges we face- people who understand the magic of horses and also the cost (YOU!). Funds raised at this event specifically support our herd by financing things such as vet visits, farrier care, feed, supplements, equipment that fits, fly spray... you get the idea.**
** Just a PSA- Cheff relies HEAVILY on donations- if you have any gently used horse equipment- saddles, pads, blankets, sheets, (even half bottles of fly spray...) we'd love to take them off your hands!

COST:

Minimum pledge this year is $50*- enough for a special needs rider in our area to participate in programing- a ride for a ride!

4H and Pony Club MEMBERS have a special rate of $40*

* As this is a "Ride-a-Thon" - participants are encouraged to get their family, friends, neighbors, coworkers, etc. in on the action!  You can certainly "sponsor" yourself, but there are fantastic prizes for top pledge earners and you could end up riding "for free" while raising money and awareness for a great cause!  Our online fundraising (crowdrise) platform makes it super easy to build a page and spread the word on social media and email.  Check out the fundraising information listed below.

HOW:

You can download physical registration forms here. we will also be fundraising online using Crowdrise. You're invited to set up your own fundraising page for ride-a-thon.... this makes it SUPER easy to reach out to family and friends for support. Don't forget- there are awesome prizes for our top three fundraisers!! Check out the links below.
